CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Individualized instruction in ballet technique, conditioning, repertory, and creative independent assignments will be given with the caring attention that is the hallmark of JMBT’s school. Participants will receive a student instructional workbook and other course materials thoughtfully designed to optimize comprehensive ballet training during times of necessary physical distancing.

Students will work closely with members of JMBT’s faculty in limited-size classes offering substantial individual feedback. Every student can expect considerable advancement from expert technical training and the opportunity to learn, rehearse, and produce solo performance videos of new, original choreography.

The Ballet at Home™ Summer Intensive Course© is intended for committed students who understand that current social restrictions do not have to prevent them from making the progress they typically expect from a live intensive summer program.

1:15-2:15 PM “Dancer’s Hour: New Windows into the World of Ballet”: A new series featuring guest artists and other speakers on various ballet topics including health issues, stories of great ballets and famous dancers, and other forms of dance that contribute to ballet performance.

OTHER CAMP INFO: AUDITION REQUIREMENT
Students not previously enrolled in JMBT programs or not previously accepted into the 2020 Summer Performance Intensive will be asked to submit an audition video consisting of an adage at the barre, an adage in the centre, and an allegro combination with turns. All exercises should be 32 counts. Videos do not need to be professional quality.

Audition videos should be submitted by email to Gabrielle Domb (gdomb[AT]ballettheatre.org). The deadline to submit a video is June 18.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our indoor facilities include air-conditioned Dining Hall and classrooms, Woodshop, Ceramics Studio, Photography Studio and dark room, state of the art Performance Hall and gymnasiums. Our outdoor facilities include a heated swimming pool, three-sided, 35 foot climbing tower, high and low ropes course, turf and baseball field complex, playing fields and basketball court.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: All of our staff at Summer Fenn are 18 years or older and their talent, energy, experience, and dedication are absolutely unmatched! Most are teaching professionals and college aged students studying education or recreation.

At Summer Fenn, we are committed to guiding and celebrating our campers as they make choices about how to participate in our many programs. Summer Theatre Camp will run from July 2 to July 23 and culminate in a full scale musical theatre production to friends and families at our own Theatre. Camp Fee is $975 for the full 4 week session

CAMP FACILITIES: Swimming pond, boating and fishing pond, 4 outdoor pools, 2 outdoor basketball/street hockey courts, tennis courts, zipline, climbing wall, high and low ropes course, adventure kingdom, barn and horseback riding ring, 5 sports fields, target paintball range, music studio, golf driving, putting chipping areas, vegetable and herb garden, arts and crafts building, a variety of outdoor shelter areas.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Since 1960, Camp Sewataro has been sharing the joy of traditional day camping with boys and girls, initiating them into a world of new and exciting adventures, activities, and friendships. The Spirit of Sewataro creates memories that last a lifetime. Values such as teamwork, fair play, cooperation, and sportsmanship, are instilled and encouraged. This builds self-confidence and a sense of community, resulting in children who come away feeling good about themselves and believing they have something valuable to offer others.

Lunch service is available. Bus transportation is available from Boston, Cambridge and the MetroWest area. Our campers gather from as close by as Sudbury, Weston, Wayland, Winchester, Concord, Lexington and Brookline, and as far away as Beijing, South Korea, South Africa, Mexico and Columbia.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Sewataro’s Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program is a two-year leadership program for young adults who are interested in becoming camp counselors. Participants attend one four-week session each summer. The program’s objectives are to develop counselors who emphasize learning, fun and safety through a positive work ethic, leadership, and enthusiastic spirit and to provide its participants with a summer of personal growth and enjoyment. It provides a unique opportunity for participants to develop a sense of camaraderie and responsibility.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: SPOTLIGHT aims to engage today's youth in the discovery of theatre's many components. In an exciting, non-competitive, fun filled environment, we strive to enrich appreciation for Theater Arts through education, creativity, and passion. Participants receive theatre arts training both on stage and backstage which strives to foster each individual's talents and aspirations with an emphasis on teamwork and personal growth.

THE SPOTLIGHT THEATER WORKSHOP was designed not only to be a lot of fun, but to also focus on strengthening the skills of our participants and teaching them new and exciting elements involved in the performing arts. Some of our classes will include acting, singing, dancing, technical theater, improv, and auditioning skills. Also, we're very excited about incorporating film/television acting and production into the workshop!

Monologues will also be worked on during class time so that upon completion of the program, participants will be comfortable using their pieces at auditions in the future. There will also be many outdoor activities, free time, and special guests!

CAMP FACILITIES: Our school is made up of 4 buildings. We house 70 dorm rooms, a dining hall, classrooms, library, media centers and much more. We have 6 tennis courts, an outdoor pool, fitness center, art and theater areas. Outside we are set on 100 acres of land that include forest and vast open spaces. Our barn is our pride and joy and at this point is the home to 35 school horses.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Speak Up I: Introduction to Debate and Public Speaking Camp is designed for campers who have little or no experience in speaking in front of a group. Our goals are to have fun and learn some ways to use our voices effectively.

Speak Up II: This camp is designed for high school students ready to refresh, refine, and advance their public speaking skills. Gain confidence as you learn from and with others who are seeking to enhance their voice powers/amplify their voices? in a fun, supportive environment!

Performing Arts: Campers will take part in dance, voice and theater.

Bonnie Castle Equestrian: Premiere riding camp for beginner and experienced riders. This summer we will be offering the British Horse Society Program challenge awards, where campers will work at their own pace to complete learning opportunities as equestrians.

Campers are taught by Stoneleigh-Burnham staff. Counselors for the residential programs are CPR and first aid certified as well as we complete criminal offender and sex offender background checks.

Speak Up camps are for debate and public speaking. Campers will learn the art of conversational and competitive speaking. As well as learn to use their voce for effective communication and advocacy.
