CAMP FACILITIES: Mariposa Day Camp, located in Altadena, offers themed weeks with several different emphases for girls to choose from. Girls participate in new and traditional Girl Scouts activities while making new friends, developing self-esteem and making lasting memories. Introducing new and exciting activities this summer such as a brand new gaga court, low ropes and team building activities plus kids kitchen which gives each girl the opportunity to prepare a fun and different snack each week. The themes for each week provide additional activities and enjoyment for the campers. All day camps include daily snacks, a camp souvenir, any badges earned, and a 4X6 camp group photo. Let’s journey back in time to when Laura Ingalls Wilder was a young girl. SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
CAMP COUNSELOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Brief Description: Camp counselors at Pali Adventures are responsible for the physical and emotional well-being of campers. They supervise campers in a cabin setting, at mealtimes, and during activities. Counselors are in charge of facilitating activities throughout the day. Counselors work as a team to ensure all campers have a fun and memorable experience at camp. Counselors report directly to their Specialty Director and Group Leader.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Exhibit characteristics of responsibility, dependability, leadership, patience, punctuality, hard work, sense of humor, self-control, integrity, common sense, good judgment and a positive enthusiastic attitude.
 Complete the staff application and interview process.
 Attend staff training (May 30 – June 12) and all in-service trainings.
 Must have completed high school and be a minimum 18 years of age or older as of 5/30/20.
 Desire and ability to work with children.
 Other duties as assigned

Staff members are entrusted with the care and safety of young children in a rustic setting replete with natural and man-made dangers. All staff members must have the ability to respond immediately to an emergency. Any staff member with a disability that may affect the Staff Member’s ability to physically perform these requirements should immediately inform the Human Resources Department to determine possible reasonable accommodations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

• Serve the campers as a positive role model.
• Camp staff members will actively supervise campers both in assigned cabin groups (typically 10 campers and 2 counselors) and at assigned specialty, elective, evening and weekend activity programs.
• All campers should feel comfortable, safe and included.
• Learn the likes and dislikes of each camper in your care by showing genuine interest.
• Recognize and respond to the opportunities for problem solving in the group.
• The counselor is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of each camper within their cabin group and with whom they come into contact. E.g. drinking water, daily showers, teeth brushing, active supervision during rest/ down time, application of sunscreen and lip balm, appropriate attire for the activity they will be attending, etc.

• Provide opportunities for each individual to experience success during camp.
• The staff member must never leave campers unsupervised.

• Develop opportunities for positive interaction between campers and staff.
• Provide opportunities for each individual to experience success during camp.
• Carry out established roles in enforcing camp safety regulations.
• Know where your campers are at all times.

Other Job functions
 On a rotating basis, all staff members will be scheduled to assist with the serving of meals

CAMP FACILITIES: This site offers indoor dormitory sleeping in bunks with mattresses provided. Campers are grouped together by age and supervised by their counseling staff. The beautiful setting also allows for swimming, access to the Russian River, outdoor basketball court, a play area, a cozy main house lodge, a recreation and gaming room, an outdoor campfire circle, cozy places to sit and share, a crafts shack, and a wonderful Redwood chapel.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Saint Francis is a week filled with programs that allow campers to explore and experience outdoor activities and create for themselves a closer connection to God and their communities.

Established in 2001, CSF moved to its new host site in 2014. This Camp Meeker location affords opportunities for activities like crafts, campfire, archery, games, sports, dance, water fun and nature hikes.

We build on themes of understanding and compassion in all of our programs, particularly in chapel, our scarf program, group games and discussions and our creative lessons and themes throughout the week.

Most of our staff are volunteers and attended camp as campers, and they are dedicated to providing a highly spirited, fun, and welcoming environment. We all strive to be good role models of the Christian way of life. We hope that our positive example and loving Christian environment promotes campers to grow spiritually.

The Scarf program, adopted from the YMCA’s ragger program, teaches campers important life skills, by taking on personal challenges and working towards overcoming them successfully. Ultimately, this helps develop lifelong tools a camper needs for personal growth. * Staff members are screened and trained in program, policies, and safety awareness. Our program is sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of California and is welcoming and inclusive.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Youth ages 14-15 are welcome to apply as Program Aides, we also accept volunteers for Counselors (and CITs) and Program leaders. Training for the staff will be held in the Bay Area in July 2017.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our Ballet studio is located in downtown Alameda near shopping and restaurants. It is in a beautiful old building with hardwood floors and large windows with lots of natural light.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Ages 4-6yrs: This level is for beginning students as well as those who have already been in a dance program. In addition to a daily dance class, children learn about and watch a different famous classical ballet each week. They explore their own creativity through exercise in movement concepts. Students also learn valuable lessons about anatomy, nutrition, dance history and vocabulary. Every child goes home with their own Ballet Camp Scrapbook they have created each week.

Ages 7-12yrs: This level is similar in structure and content to the camp for 4 - 6 year olds, but is for children whose focus, coordination, reading and writing skills are more developed. This camp includes a daily ballet class, video of a classical ballet, lessons in music, dance history, anatomy, nutrition and ballet vocabulary. Students explore their creativity with exercises in choreography and activities related to the classical ballet they are studying. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: With over 30 years of experience, the Phoenix Ranch prides itself in presenting an outstanding summer camp program that reflects our commitment to excellent supervision and quality programming.

We are accredited by the American Camp Association, a national accrediting agency that supports high quality standards for site, supervision, and programming. Our campus is very safe with a trained security guard on campus at all times, and CCTV monitoring. The Phoenix Ranch Staff (18 years of age or older) will undergo over 30 hours of pre-camp and in-service training. All staff has additionally been background checked and fingerprinted and trained in basic first aid.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our Story Ballet Camp is designed for students ages 3 to 5 and ages 6 to 8 to increase the love and appreciation of the art of dance while improving coordination, physical fitness, performance ability, self-esteem and discipline. A storybook theme will be offered during each session, and all activities will revolve around the ballet theme. There will be a demonstration at the end of the week for parents to attend.

CAMP FACILITIES: Beautiful and recently renovated Black Box Theater. It has a stage and comfortable back stage. All of our props and backgrounds are designed and created by hand. Elevated seating that can fit up to 90 people. There is a ticket booth and a functioning restroom. Different types of lighting: black light, fluorescent, stage lighting, rope lighting, and a disco ball. A working sound board, music, and up-to-date stereo system. We utilize different media options as well.

A few buildings away is our main office, where rehearsals may sometimes be held. It has 3 spacious rehearsal rooms, each with a baby grand piano.

Performance for family and friends at the end of the camp.

We do not skip out on costumes! Every participant will be outfitted in a role and age appropriate costumes for the performance. The actors and actress will also interact with carefully designed and created props.

Students will be learning stage position, projection of their voice, blocking, how to interpret a script, read music, sing in a group, and dancing.

Since the plays we do are musicals, the actors and actresses will learn the basics of singing. It includes, reading music, matching pitch, group and possibly solo singing, tempo, and rhythms. Our choreographer will teach dance positions, dance moves, rhythm, counting, and tempo.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Monday through Friday, 9AM to 4PM, beginning July 15 and going through August 9th. The camp location will be in Livermore, and is for children aged 7-17. The performances are on Saturday, August 10th and Sunday, August 11th.

The regular tuition for the 4 week program is $1100. Enrollments before July 1, 2013 will receive a 10% discount, reducing the tuition to $990. A 25% deposit of $247.50 is due at the time of registration. The balance of the tuition is due by July 1st, 2013. Enrollments after July 1st must pay the full tuition at the time of enrollment.

CAMP FACILITIES: The school campus is 27,000 square meters and equips with state-of-art facilities which provide students with comfortable and convenient environment for learning and living. The school library has a collection of 90,000 books that allow students to access it at anytime. Wifi Internet is available throughout every corner of the campus. Sport field occupies a 9,600 square meters area, including outdoor lighted basketball courts, soccer field, tennis courts, rock climbing, etc. It also has an indoor gym of 700 square meters. The dining hall allows 1,200 people having meal at the same time. All the classrooms in GQMMS are equipped with TVs, projectors, laptops and multimedia facilities.

Designed for students age 14-18. It combines a community service project that could earn up to 80 service hours, culture activities, and traveling altogether. Participants will team-teach English to a group of Chinese elementary students. It is packed with unlimited exposure to China and Chinese language, and filled with great fun.

Not only participant will have a chance to meet same age teens come from all over the U.S. and other countries, but also make connections with local Chinese teens. This is also a great opportunity to learn to be more independent, mature, open-minded and develop a sense of responsibility.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have 2 dance studios in the building. We use our large dance space for the dance classes and performance. Camp sit-down activities, arts & crafts are held in our mezzanine studio. Dressing rooms, indoor and outdoor eating areas and office are downstairs.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Star Dance Studio has been a neighborhood and family style dance school since 1950. Over sixty-eight years! Our faculty and staff are warm and caring people who love working with children. Instructors are adults well experienced in their dance art and teaching skills. Each Wednesday, we take a walk to the Golden Gate Park's Arboretum and Shakespeare's Garden. There, we take candid dance photographs (shared with you). CAMP PROGRAM INFO: LVCC MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP was born of a passion for helping children discover confidence and learn life skills in the process of creating Musical Theatre. We know that many valuable life skills can be developed in the process of creating ART, especially when the creation process takes place with collaboration.

LVCCMTW is a place where the individual is nurtured, cared about and supported. We believe in positivity and unique expression. We have a "zero-tolerance" policy on negativity. This camp is a place where loving, encouraging, creativity takes place and character building elements are valued and taught. We believe that we are helping to "BUILD BETTER HUMANS THROUGH MUSICAL THEATRE" by focusing on collaboration, acceptance,creativity, respect, friendship, and individual expression. We build these elements into everything we do.

During each one-week session, 120 Campers are divided, by age, into seven groups: Preschool - High School.
Each group spends the week from 9-3 each day attending sessions in ACTING, DANCE, MUSIC, STAGECRAFT and THEATRE ARTS,creating a unique, original Musical Theatre Production for performance at the Friday Night Showcase.

Each age group is joined by trained, experienced, caring counselors who accompany them throughout their day. We believe in personal attention to each camper, therefore we keep our camper to counselor ratio very small. In our preschool 1/2 day program, our ratio is 3 campers to one counselor. This ratio increases only slightly with each age group. Our maximum ratio is in the 9th-10th grade Leadership Training program, where the ratio is only 6:1. We believe that adhering strictly to this ratio allows each camper maximum support for their individual creative expression and gives our staff an opportunity to relate to every camper individually.

Our caring instructors are skilled, educated, and experienced in their craft and have a passion for helping kids discover their skills, talents and self confidence in each of the respective elements of Musical Theatre creation.

Stagecraft: Campers will make (or assist in making) their own sets, props and costumes, using age-level based artistic expression, creative and technical skills.

Dance: Campers will be taught a dance and will learn dance terms and basic dance moves. They will learn or improve their ability to be comfortable with dance and with moving their bodies.

Acting: campers will learn and rehearse their scene for the showcase. As age/ability increases, campers also participate in writing their own lines, some of the scene, or the whole scene.

Music: campers learn the song for their performance. They will focus on basic musical terms and concepts. As age/ability increases, campers participate in solo and small group singing, understanding and performing harmony and lyric writing/music composition skills.

Theatre Arts: Campers gain understanding of the concepts and ideas needed to fully comprehend their scene/character for the performance showcase. As age/ability increases, campers participate in character development, exploration of personal strengths/goals, collaborative creation process.

Preschool/Kinder students attend a 1/2 day camp where some of these classes are combined. All other campers attend full day camp.

9th/10th grade campers also attend child development class and leadership training and function as an instructor assistant for some of the day as part of our Leadership Training Certification Program.

All of our staff are highly trained in positive interaction skills and have a passion for children and for the arts.

Stage Kids WA develops and nurtures young people's potential through classes, workshops and performances. Our professional staff encourages creativity and delivers quality performing arts training for both the beginner and the experienced performer. Fun is had by all as we emphasize life skills such as responsibility, confidence, teamwork and creating new friendships.

Stage Kids CA was recently honored as "Best family-friendly musical" for their holiday production of "Bah Humbug".

Often, the success of a show is determined by the number of tickets sold or the overall presentation. To us, the process is just as important (if not MORE important!) than the performance, so we focus on challenging and growing the children. After all, that's what makes a better show...theater skills are really life skills!

SPECIAL GUEST ARTIST PERFORMANCES
Every session, a different band plays a live set for the girls and then sticks around for an intimate Q&A. In our end of program survey this was a major highlight for the girls. They learned about different genres of music and had a fun time listening to the bands and getting to engage in meaningful discussions with the visiting artists.

FINAL SHOWCASE
At the end of the session, all campers show off their original work at the Final Showcase for the whole camp community!

Regenerative Presence:
We use a variety of tools to inspire a regenerative presence on the planet. At Earth Path Education, we believe that the concept of regeneration is the key to a harmonious future here on Earth. We believe that as humans we can do more than not harm, we can actually feed all of creation with our beauty, our rituals, our songs, and our deep listening.

Village Building:
We hold necessary the role of the village in our Wilderness Rites of Passage ceremonies. It is the village that sends the initaites into their journeys, and the village that catches the initaites and witnesses the transformations. Ceremonial Arts:
At Earth Path Education we are committed to the beauty way. We make earth offerings, and leave equsitie altars in the forest. We sings and dance, at each spring, we feed the fire with our stories and we compost our grief and our burdens, so that life can grow corn with it to feed the people. We pray for our lives, we pray for the earth. Our dreams bring us messages, and as we tune into our rhythms, and synch up with the rythms of the land. The earth starts to dream up through us, clarifying our purpose, calling us forward, and illuminating our gifts. Our ceremonies are an art of listening, to that wisdom which has been held in the earth and is just waiting to be danced up through us.

Permaculture:
Permaculture creates systems that provide for Human needs and the Earth’ s needs through mutually beneficial relationships. The health of our human community is linked to our local bioregion, which in turn is linked to the wellbeing of all ecosystems. We instill the ethics of Elemental Linking and Holistic Thinking. As every element becomes an integral part of the whole system, the whole community becomes more dynamic, harmonious, and energy efficient. Through implementing these ceremonial practices, we learn how we can create space to deeply explore the blessings of being a woman.

We experience ourselves through ceremony and through play! We learn ancestral crafts, games, stories, and songs as we root into our bio-region! As we camp and hike our amazing landscapes, we explore the ways in which we can sustain ourselves through our understanding of the natural world. We learn a variety of earth skills including how to make fire, wild edibles, permaculture, plant medicines, and much more.

We call upon elders in our community to share their wisdom; we bring in strong role models to teach a variety of skills, crafts, and classes. Together we form a web that nourishes the fertile soil that feeds our growth and expansion throughout life. This quest is a powerful and fun-filled experience for all, helping to create the beautiful, heart-centered women of our future!

We're fitness out-of-the-box — where you DANCE, SWEAT, & LIVE far beyond your workout. CLASS - Rec Floor Gym 7-12yrs. Thurs 5:15-6:00 PM 7/16-8/6 - This class is for both beginners and advanced beginners. Students will be taught rolls, cartwheels, handstands, round-offs, and backbends as they progress in each skill.

Proper dance attire (Tap and ballet shoes) are encouraged. This twice a week session greatly enhances the learning experience and serves as a good introduction to the preschool environment. A special performance will be held at the end of each session.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The seed of Sessions Songwriting and Music sprung to life in 2007 when its founder, Lauren Bruns, was discussing with a good friend and mother of two that there was a gaping hole in many of the musical programs offered in Los Angeles. Not one school was offering a songwriting component in which kids could express themselves through words and music simultaneously.

Lauren knew firsthand how songwriting benefited her life as a young adult and set out on a mission to create an easy-to-follow curriculum that inspired kids of all musical levels to create and express themselves through original lyrics and music. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Young Dancer Camp is designed for the young dance student, ages 8 to 10, who are currently enrolled in Ballet Level 1, 2 or 3 and are taking a minimum of two to three ballet classes a week. It is a comprehensive program that enhances the dancer’s classical ballet training and introduces the dancer to character, historical dance, jazz, etiquette and proper stretching. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Hillbarn Theatre Conservatory, formed in 2000, is a theatre arts education program serving the needs of youth and adolescents, ages 4-18, in Foster City and the mid-peninsula area.

Our program is to help each athlete reach their highest potential, to provide proper skills and techniques and to encourage and support each athlete in the growing process. We take great pride in all our athletes and believe our program serves a higher purpose.

Coaches are AACCA, First Aid, CPR, USAG, Risk management Certified and trained on Safety Spotting.
